CONNIE PARENTEAU
During her term as APEGA President, meeting Professional Members of APEGA has been a highlight. She is very impressed and proud of how many APEGA Members volunteer both for APEGA activities and in their Communities.
Over the years, she has also served as Chief Warden of the Corporation of the Seven Wardens - Edmonton Camp 6 (Iron Ring) and President of the APEGA Education Foundation.
She is a strong advocate of the importance of being involved in professional and community affairs. She has been active in non-profit organizations related to the performing arts, literacy and community services.
Connie is known for her passion of getting things done. She has a keen interest in understanding others; their issues, goals, fears and dreams. She has thrived in dynamic work environments, especially those where you are always learning. She has a dependable reputation and consistently drives towards excellence.
In her 33-year career with TELUS Communications, she held a variety of technical, managerial and leadership positions. She worked on key initiatives such as TELUS TV and Next Generation Networks. Connie acted as a Responsible Member for the TELUS Corporation Permit to Practice for more than 15 years.
Connie enjoys time with family and friends, traveling, golfing, sporting events, music, theatre and entertaining.
Connie Parenteau, P.Eng., FEC, FGC (Hon.), President - APEGA
Connie Parenteau, P.Eng., was raised and educated in Edmonton. She graduated from the University of Alberta in 1980 with a B.Sc. in Electrical Engineering.
She was the 1993 recipient of the APEGA Early Accomplishment Summit Award®, became an Engineers Canada Fellow in 2009 and a Geoscientists Canada Fellow (Hon.) in 2013.
Connie is currently serving as APEGA’s President. She has been leading Council through the development of APEGA’s upcoming 2017-2019 Strategic Plan and fully engaged in the APEGA Legislative Review. She has been a significant driver in APEGA Council’s Governance Renewal which has streamlined the Council Committee structure.
