Amy Leong Mini Bio

Ms. Amy Leong is a Chartered Accountant with over 20 years of industry experience. At present, Ms. Leong is the VP Finance at TAQA North overseeing the Finance and IT organization of approximately 100 staff delivering on all aspects of oil and gas accounting and financial reporting in meeting the needs of both internal and external stakeholders along with the IT support to the organization. She also held senior positions in a number of Canadian and US publicly listed energy companies including Director of Pipeline Accounting at TransCanada Corporation, Controller and Principal Financial Officer (PFO) of TC PipeLines, LP (a US SEC registrant), CFO of TransQuébec Maritimes Pipelines, and Assistant Controller of Husky Energy Inc.

Ms. Leong has extensive experience in the following financial areas: Budgets and Planning, External and Internal Financial Reporting, Regulatory Accounting, Capital/Operating Cost Accounting, Compliance (SOX 404). Further, she participated in a number of financing deals (equity and debt issuances) involving communications with rating agencies, business acquisitions, secondary listings on an oversea’s Exchange, and company’s transition to International Accounting standards. Ms. Leong had also testified in a number of regulatory proceedings in front of both the Canadian Federal (the National Energy Board) and the Provincial (the Alberta Utilities Commission) regulatory boards.

Ms. Leong is a member of the following professional associations: Chartered Professional Accountants of Canada (CPA), and the Canadian Association of Petroleum Producers (CAPP). She also served as a member of the following committees: American Gas Association’s Accounting Principles Committee, the Canadian Energy Pipeline Association’s Regulatory Accounting Work Group, and the Interstate Natural Gas Association of America’s Accounting Task Force. Ms. Leong also served in an officer capacity of the following committees: Management Committee member of Great Lakes Gas Transmission System, Audit Committee Chair of Northern Border Pipeline Company, Audit Committee member of Portland Natural Gas Transmission System, and Finance Committee member of TransQuébec Maritimes Pipeline.

Ms. Leong is married with two boys who are both involved in premier level competitive soccer. She devotes much of her personal time volunteering in various capacities (Treasurer, Team Manager, and Tournament Coordinator) with the soccer club. Ms. Leong is the Treasurer and also serves on the Board of the Calgary Food Bank.
