More about our Speaker:

Neil is a Professional Engineer based in Calgary, Alberta. He holds a bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, from the University of Waterloo, and a master's degree in Mechanical and Industrial Engineering from the University of Toronto.

Neil has over 10 years of experience working in both small and large organizations—including Ford Motor Company, Magna International, and Molson Coors Brewing Company—in a variety of industries ranging from automotive to nanotechnology. However his passion and focus is working with new and emerging technologies, and he brings a wealth of experience in technology development and commercialization. Before his current role at ACAMP, Neil worked with Perpetual Industries, a company developing and commercializing a novel balancing technology that reduced vibration and increased efficiency in many types of rotating equipment. He started there as an engineer, but was eventually immersed in all aspects of the business, including: engineering, business development, marketing and sales, operations, financing, and investor relations. It was here that Neil experienced all the ups and downs that are faced by emerging technologies, and after 6 years at the company, decided to leave his role as Chief Operating Officer to pursue other opportunities.

Neil currently works as a Business Development Manager with ACAMP--an Alberta-based product development centre established to support technology companies by providing access to multidisciplinary engineers, technology experts, unique specialized equipment, and industry acumen. His role is to connect advanced technology companies with the high-value development resources that ACAMP provides. Neil's role also focuses on establishing relationships and partnerships with the innovation ecosystem in order to better serve ACAMP's clients so that they can also build the connections and networks they need to succeed in all aspects of their business.

Feel free to bring your start up questions for this casual patio chat!
