September Speaker Series: Employment Obstacles

In honor of Calgary Pride Week, our September Speaker Series will be presented by YW Calgary and will be discussing employment obstacles in our industry, especially those commonly faced by members of the LGBTQ2S+ community that everyone should be made aware of. This presentation will outline how to work towards lowering, overcoming and working alongside employment obstacles. It will help you identify your own obstacles to employment (whether a member of the LGBTQ2S+ community or not), and things such as inappropriate questions that may arise during an interview and how to work around them. Most importantly, everyone will gain invaluable advice on how to set a plan for yourself and define your rights in the workplace. The event will open with special introductions by Joy Brown and Kiersten Mohr!

As always, AVE events are open to everyone and are meant to be a safe place to ask questions and have important discussions. Although this event has a presentation format, it will be an open conversation about employment obstacles that you, your friends and colleagues may be facing and that you should be aware of.

Snacks will be provided.
